Welcome to my internet diary... I'm a local Thetford Town Councillor and
a Breckland Councillor - representing the Burrell Ward. I am also a Norfolk County
Councillor representing the Thetford-West division. Editor of the About
Thetford magazine and I am a passionate community activist and Thetford born and bred.
Dog poo in bags left hanging in bushes - one of my pet hates, especially being a dog owner myself! Doesn't exactly do much for our image. It defies logic - rather like the two TV sets and furniture dumped over by Nuns Bridges this week in a beauty spot. I rather doubt that this problem is isolated in Thetford - more to do with a throw away consumable society.
How to foster a new pride in the town? A truly modern (and truly representative) proactive town council that doesn't waste time and money sitting around in fur gowns and silly hats might just help? Maybe if they represented all of the generations and origins of modern Thetfordians?
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment. For info, since joining the council in July last year I've only had to wear the furs twice - once for the Rememberance Day parade and once for the Ceremonial Meeting at the end of November, maybe things have improved a bit? Agree with your views on Town Council needing to be more representative etc. I am pleased we have two councillors in their early 20's! i.e. me and Sam Chapman-Allen. Anyway, hope you are well, Terry :)

More Thomas Paine please, less Dads Army.
