Community casework...

Seems to be a busy time for casework at the moment. I undertook my normal litter pick of the Ballpark on Monday morning; managed to collect one Sainsbury's bag full of rubbish which is really not too bad, and got 3 bags full of leaves. My dad had been over the day before and erected the new signs that you can see in the pictures above. Dog fouling is really a major issue on this site. I'm going to be pressing the Breckland Dog Warden and other agencies to do what they can to support the volunteers that run the site.

I visited properties along York Way and Winchester Way on Monday. Residents had contacted myself and Councillor Brenda Canham regarding the issue of blocked drains - a common complaint to Councillors. These ones were particularly funny as they were so blocked that it took us a while to find them!!! The level of detritus that builds up in some areas through lack of routine maintenance is quite shocking. I passed the matter onto the relevant officer at Breckland so hopefully they will address this.

Finally, Monday night was the Barnham Action Group meeting. Not too many residents, but a good discussion had nevertheless. That said, four of the five Councillors that were present are residents as well as being Councillors (Myself, Cllr Sully, Cllr Brindle, Cllr Crawford). Lots and lots of issues discussed, particularly the issue of pot-holes - including those along Fulmerston Road and Kimms Belt. I reported my frustration that the loose tarmac from the Kimms Belt potholes had been dumped on the side of the grass verge as you go along Kimms Belt - charming hey.

Evening Terry.

I was going off the Abbey estate just before the schools let the children out and the amount of cars parked on the road, pavement and also on the grass the other side of the road was crazy.

The grass between Canterbury Way and Chester Way is very wide and getting ruined by cars having to park there whilst collecting the children.

Would it not be a good idea to have this area turned into a walled car park with an in and an out gate that can be locked every night to stop undesirables trashing it.

I think that from a safety point of view it is something that perhaps the TTC could speak to Breckland about???

What do you think???
